Bedford {other Models} Green Goddess Fire Engine RLHZ 4x4 4.9 Green Goddess RLHZ Fire Engine
Key facts
Print summaryA very unique Bedford Green Goddess RLHZ 4x4. D.O.R 17th April 1956 'Historic Vehicle' status. Single owner since 2007 UK Government release. Benefits from an extensive conversion (circa £12k), carried out by 'Awesome Classic & Custom', renowned classic car renovation and custom builders in Cambridge. With their help and a design consultancy plan, the whole roof was removed as well as the interior water tanks etc. The roof (a common fault for rotting / leaking on the Green Goddess) over the back compartment was replaced using steel frame supports, supporting a very sturdy new metal roof that you can safely walk and store things on - total bill was £11,766.89 in November 2009. The front roof was replaced and kept original. The front cabin has four comfortable bucket seats all with 3 point seat belts. The back cabin has been converted into a self contained living space, it's insulated and lined with faux suede panels with an opening glass window at the rear, but retaining the exterior profile and look. Hose reel side graphics plus limited kit included. 'Sigmund fire pump' still fitted. Approx internal space dimensions 2.0 metre wide, 1.6-1.45 metre high and 4.1 meter long. Gross Vehicle Weight 5380 kg. Timber laminate style floor, suede style walls / ceiling and led lights. The Goddess starts first time, drives exceptionally well. It has always been dry stored so the underbody and bodywork is in great condition, considering it's age and probably due to being stored indoors most of it's life. There is an amazing file of paperwork showing a very comprehensive service record and vehicle life history backed up with; service sheets, vehicle activity logs, all books and manuals, an original spare key, lots of service items and spare parts. The rear conversion is fully documented with copies of invoices plus its had circa £2,400 spent in recent years on servicing and general maintenance. This would make an ideal blank canvas to be further converted into a very capable four wheel drive overland expedition camper / motor home. listed as a 'Fire Engine' and 'Historic' , Beige Vinyl interior, 4x4, Green, 'HPi clear' certificate & supplied with 'PDi' inspection for your peace of mind & safety, £13,975
